            Zuckerberg is a successful business
leader, but he cares not only making money but also environment protection. People
used to think that the world’s resources were infinite. In order to create
business world, people accessed them as many as they wanted. Today, more people
and companies have realized how false it is. There are no infinite resources in
the world. We have to find sustainable ways for development and protect the
planet and the resources we have left. Zuckerberg regards company’s social
responsibility and environmental stewardship as part of the company’s mission. Facebook
is now using its influence to help the environment by launching its Green on
Facebook initiative. Zuckerberg wants to make people aware of the increasing
environmental issues. He is now practice what he preaches by changing Facebook.
Facebook is now creating a new programming language that can cut down CPU use
by 50 percent, and shares the software as an open resource for other companies’
use. “One of our core values at Facebook is the responsibility to do everything
we can to reduce our environmental impact on the planet,” Zuckerberg said on
Facebook. Unlike some other businessmen who pursue profits by sacrificing
environment, Zuckerberg is truly environmentally friendly business leader.
Another thing he impressed me was that he made arguments against Donald Trump’s
decision to withdraw from the Paris climate agreement. “Withdrawing from the
Paris climate agreement is bad for the environment, bad for the economy, and it
puts our children’s future at risk,” Zuckerberg wrote in a Facebook post. I
admire him because he has the courage to express his disagreement against the
US president and keep his faith for the community. He set a model for us to
follow. Taking socially and environmentally responsibility is more than
following a legal duty. It will eventually benefit the long-tern success of the
business and the community.
