Rough Trade records
first opened its doors in 1976 as a mere record sales shop by the founder Geoff
Travis who later expanded this in the record label division we know today as
Rough Trade Records. The idea behind the open of this store at first was to
give people in the local area a chance to discover music that they have never
heard of and to give an outlet to new local and up and coming artist to sell
they’re music. The record label official came to volition in 1978 when Rough
Trade signed their first band “Metal Urban” who heard about the store and
enquired about Geoff promoting they’re first single
